Sustainability

The present owners decided to establish Rawa Island Resort some twenty years ago with a view to preserving and enhancing the island’s natural beauty. Every effort has been made to ensure that the island is managed and developed responsibly. Chalets and rooms were built using as much natural and recycled construction materials as possible. All laundry is transported to the mainland to be washed so as to minimise the use of detergent on the island. We operate a strict waste collection and recycling policy. Rainwater is collected to be used for watering plants.

Projects

As part of our commitment to sustainability, Rawa Island Resort works with a number of local and international universities and schools relating to the flora and fauna around the island.
